Hey there! I’m Julieanna Jackson, a 21-year-old storyteller from Mize, Mississippi. I proudly graduated cum laude from the University of Mississippi in 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a minor in Law, and I’m especially honored to be a first-generation college student. My time at Ole Miss was an exciting adventure, filled with opportunities to dive deep into the world of reporting as an anchor for our student-run news station, "NewsWatch."
From investigative stories about the rise of sports betting on college campuses to the heart-wrenching impact of fentanyl in our community, I’ve covered stories that matter. One of the most unforgettable experiences was interviewing Cal Mayo, a father who lost his son to a fentanyl overdose, and sharing the mission behind the foundation his family created to spread awareness. These moments pushed me beyond the campus bubble and fueled my passion for journalism even more.
Now, you can find me reporting for KCEN Channel 6 News, where I continue to follow my passion for uncovering stories and giving a voice to those who need it most.
But there’s more to me than just news. I’m a traveler, a proud dog mom, and someone who finds joy in the little moments — meeting new people, swapping stories, and turning strangers into friends. As a runner, I was lucky enough to be part of ESPN College Gameday and got involved with Delta Gamma sorority, Panhellenic, and the Talbert Fellows. These experiences shaped me and gave me a greater appreciation for the connections we make along the way.
