Get to Know Me

Hi, I’m Julieanna Jackson, a multimedia journalist and fill-in anchor based in Central Texas. I’m originally from Mize, Mississippi, and graduated cum laude from the University of Mississippi in 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a minor in Law. As a first-generation college student, earning that degree remains one of my proudest accomplishments.

My passion for storytelling began at Ole Miss, where I anchored and reported for the student-run newscast NewsWatch. During that time, I covered complex and meaningful issues ranging from the growth of sports betting on college campuses to the devastating impact of fentanyl in local communities. Sharing the story of families affected by the crisis, including a father working to raise awareness after losing his son, deepened my commitment to journalism that informs, connects, and serves.

Today, I report for KCEN Channel 6 News, where I pitch, shoot, write, and deliver stories that matter across Central Texas. Whether covering breaking news, public safety, or human-interest stories, my goal is always the same: clear, accurate reporting that reflects the people and communities at the heart of the story.

Outside the newsroom, I love traveling, spending time with my dogs, and meeting new people whose stories deserve to be heard. I’m grateful for the experiences that shaped my path, including involvement with ESPN College GameDay, Delta Gamma, Panhellenic, and the Talbert Fellows.

I’m always open to connecting, collaborating, or sharing a story.
